MONITORING

Server probes
There are two server probe subtypes -- Administration and WebSphere Services. Use the Administration probe subtype to monitor whether selected administration requests run and to report on any requests that fail. You select the administration process requests that are monitored by the probe. After you select administration requests in the Probe document, run the administration request as you would any administration request. For each reported administration request failure, there is a corresponding error report in the IBM® Lotus® Domino™ Domain Monitor database (DDM.NSF).

Use the WebSphere Services probe subtype to monitor whether protocol requests are being processed by a remote WebSphere server. This probe connects to the port that you specify in the Probe document and determines whether the port is actively processing protocol requests. If protocol requests are not being processed, an event is generated.

For more information about running administration requests, see the topic Forcing an administration process request to run.

For information about an individual administration request, see the topic Administration process requests.

This table contains the names and descriptions of the Server probes that you can define. For information about configuring the Server probes, see the topic Creating Server probes.
