Upgrading IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook 6.5.x
Users can upgrade from IBM® Lotus® Domino™ Access for Microsoft® Outlook 6.5.x to the most current release. However, when upgrading from 6.5.3 or earlier, the upgrade will continue to use a single data directory, in which profiles of multiple users share one directory. To take advantage of the multi-user installation capabilities, in which each user can have his or her own data directory, users must first uninstall Lotus Domino Access 6.5.x. Before doing this, users should back up the existing *.NSF and *.PST files as a precaution.

During the upgrade users are asked if they want to create a profile at the end of the upgrade process. If they choose not to, they can create new profiles at anytime in the future by choosing "Create New MAPI Profile" from the Start - Programs - IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook menu.

Users cannot create a Lotus Domino Access profile using the Outlook Setup Wizard. They must use "Create New MAPI Profile" on the start menu.

Note For users wishing to take advantage of fixes present in later versions of Outlook, upgrade may not be an option since new fixes are not applied to documents that already exist in a user's local mail file. To take advantage of those fixes, users should uninstall their current version of Lotus Domino Access, and remove the local copy of their mail file (by deleting the .nsf and .pst files from the Lotus Domino Access installation directory). Then reinstall Lotus Domino Access, which recreates a local version of the user's mail file data during the initial replication.
