Working with IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook
IBM® Lotus® Domino™ Access for Microsoft® Outlook provides most of the features and services that Microsoft Outlook does. However, users should be aware of the differences listed here.

Making a change to an instance of a repeat meeting

In Microsoft Outlook, the chair is limited by how changes to repeat meetings are made. The chair can make the change to all meetings or to one instance of a repeat meeting. In Domino, however, you can modify any grouping of multiple instances. For example, if a weekly repeat meeting has been created for the next 6 weeks, and an invitee must be added at the third week of the meeting, using Domino, the chair can add the invitee to the appropriate instance of the repeat set, and then specify "this and all future."

The feature "this and all future" is not provided in Microsoft Outlook. If the chair is using IBM® Lotus® Notes® and the invitee is using Microsoft Outlook, selecting this option generates an invitation to each of the subsequent occurrences of the meeting. To maintain compatibility between Microsoft Outlook and Notes, an invitee that is added to an existing repeat meeting receives instance updates for the entire repeat set. If you anticipate there will be significant changes to the repeat meeting invitee list, you may want to keep the number of meeting instances to a minimum. That way there will not be too many meeting notices arriving in an invitee's mailbox. This is also the case for rescheduled meetings and other meeting updates.

Repeat meetings with no end dates

Repeat meetings without an ending date are not supported in Domino Access to Microsoft Outlook. If repeat meetings are created and no end date is supplied, a default end date is imposed on the repeat set. The following maximums are applied to all repeating entries (such as meetings or anniversaries) by default:

Delegation to multiple users

In Microsoft Outlook, a user can delegate one or more users to attend on his or her behalf. If both the chair and the invitee are using Microsoft Outlook, this feature is fully support by Lotus Domino Access. However, if the chair is using IBM® Lotus® Notes® and Lotus Domino, but the invitee is using Microsoft Outlook, the chair will be notified of the additional invitees, but no additional invitations will be sent to the invitees themselves. If you want more than one user to attend a meeting on your behalf, you must contact the meeting chair so that an invitation can be issued.

All Day event invitations

In Microsoft Outlook it possible to invite users to "All Day" events. This feature is not provided by Domino. When using this feature, the All Day Event is converted to a 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. meeting.
