NOTES CLIENT INSTALLATION AND SMART UPGRADE
After Lotus Notes is installed and prior to using composite applications that contain portlets, or other features that require a WebSphere Portal server, users need a Home Portal account.
Home Portal account information is stored in the Contacts database.
Note The standard portal URL format is http://host:port/wps/myportal, where /wps is a standard portal context and /myportal is a standard personalized Home.
1. Click File - Preferences.
2. Click Home Portal Account.
3. In the Name field, note the preset Home Portal Account value or type a new one.
4. In the Description field, type a descriptor, for example Home Portal Account.
5. In the Server Type field, note the preset value or type a new one.
6. In the Server field, type the Web address of your WebSphere Portal server, for example http://abx8.ibm.com/wps.
8. In the Home Portal URL field, type the WebSphere Portal server URL, for example http://abx8.lotus.com:10038/wps/myportal.
10. In the Authentication URL field, type the authenticating server URL, for example http://abx8.ibm.com/wps/j_security_check.
Note The default authentication URL is http://abx8.ibm.com/wps/portal/cxml/04_SD9ePMtCP1I800I_KydQvyHFUBADPmuQy. If the default home of your port is not "portal," modify the authentication URL accordingly, for example, for default home "bos," the authentication URL would be http://abx8.ibm.com/red/bos/cxml/04_SD9ePMtCP1I800I_KydQvyHFUBADPmuQy.
Note There is a similar preference page available in the IBM® Lotus® Expeditor® client, described in the Expeditor help at the following Web address:
