Using Notes Help
To perform basic tasks in Help
To do thisUse these steps
Open Help to the table of contentsClick Help > Help Topics from the menu.
Get help on your current taskClick one of the following:
  • Help > Context Help from the menu
  • the Help button in a dialog box
  • the question mark in a properties box
Jump to a referenced topicClick blue underlined text.

Note To return to where you were, click the left arrow near the top right of the window

Find an entry in the Index
  1. Click Index and begin typing the entry you're looking for.
  2. In the "Starts with" dialog, click Search Within Category or Search All.
  3. Click the triangle next to any index entry to expand its topics.
Search for a word or phrase in any Help topicClick Search and type your query in the Search field.

Note Drag the right edge of the navigation pane to show more search options.

Bookmark a topicRight-click anywhere in the topic and choose Create Bookmark
  • Keep the Help window open on top of other windows you have open
  • Click View > Always on Top.

    Note To close Help when "Always on Top" is selected and a dialog box is open, press ESC.


    Macintosh users

    To get help on your current task, press Command-? or click Help.

    Using Help from the keyboard
    To do thisPress
    Change between the Contents, Index, and Search viewsALT+1, ALT+2, or ALT+3 (Extended accelerators in User Preferences must be enabled)
    Move focus between the view (left) frame and the topic (right) frameF6 once or more, depending on the frame and whether you are in Contents, Index, or Search
    Select different topics or categories in the view frameDOWN ARROW, UP ARROW
    Expand all topics or categories in the view framePLUS (+) key
    Collapse all topics or categories in the view frameUNDERSCORE (_) key
    Expand the selected topic or categoryASTERISK (*) key on the numeric keypad
    Collapse the selected topic or categoryMINUS (-) key
    Move to next link in topic frame (after moving focus there)RIGHT ARROW
    Move to previous link in topic frameLEFT ARROW
    Go to selected link in topic frameSPACEBAR
    Go back to previous topic after following a linkALT+LEFT ARROW
    Move to top or bottom of topic in topic frameCTRL+HOME, CTRL+END

    Editing and printing Help topics

    To suit the needs of your site, you can create a replica of this database and edit its documents strictly for the use of users within your organization. You cannot resell or otherwise distribute this documentation, modified or unmodified, to anyone outside your organization. IBM® assumes no responsibility for the technical accuracy of any modifications made to this documentation or the operation of IBM Lotus® software in reliance on such modifications.

    To print one or more Help topics

    1. Choose one or more Help topics:

    2. Click File > Print Topic.

    3. Under What to print, select Selected documents, and then click OK.

    To print the Table of Contents or Search results

    1. If printing the Table of Contents, click View > Expand All.

    2. Click File > Print Topic.

    3. Under What to print, select Print view, and then click OK.

    Getting Help when there is no Help

    If you choose Help > Help Topics or Help > Context Help, and get a message that Help cannot be located, ask your administrator to add the Help files to your mail server, or to provide you with local Help file(s).
