WORKING WITH NOTES DOCUMENTS

Attaching files to a document
You can attach all types of files to a document, such as executables, graphic files, compressed files, even IBM® Lotus® Notes® applications (files with the NSF extension). When you attach a file, you are attaching a copy of the file, so the original is not affected.

Once you attach a file, an icon displays indicating the file type and name if you have the file's application installed. For example, this is an icon for a Lotus® 1-2-3® workbook file attachment:

A generic icon displays if you don't have the file's application installed. For example:

To attach a file

1. With the document in edit mode, click where you want the file attachment to appear (for example, at the end of the document).

2. Click the paper clip toolbar button Toolbar button of paperclip

3. (Optional) If you do not want to compress the file (makes the attachment smaller in size), remove the check from Compress.

4. Select one or more files (select multiple files by pressing Ctrl while clicking file names), and then click Create.

Tip If you do not see the Attach file icon, click the More Buttons icon down arrows to open more buttons in the Text Properties toolbar to see more text property options.
