To open or view file attachments
You can open an attached file using the software program it was created in, or with an alternative program, depending on which program you have on your machine. If you do not have any appropriate software program installed to open the attachment, you can still view the contents.
1. Open the document.
2. Select the file attachment by clicking it.
3. Click one of the following:
Attachment > Open With - to choose from a list of alternative software programs you can open the attachment with; click an appropriate program that you have on your machine.
Attachment > View - to look at the file's contents in a viewer without using the software program the file was created with to open it. You can use the Viewer menu to view the file in different ways, depending on the type of file. However, printing files from a viewer may give you unexpected results. If possible, print files from their native applications.
Tip If the attachment file type is not recognized, save the attachment to your computer, then open the file through your operating system, using the appropriate program.

To save file attachments
You can save an attached file to your hard disk, a floppy disk, or to a file server. Notes saves a copy of the attached file and leaves the original attached to the document. If more than one file is attached to a document, you can save some or all of the files at once. If the file you're saving is an application, save it to your Notes data directory (Macintosh users, Notes Data folder) to make it easier to add to your workspace later.
