SETTING USER PREFERENCES

Setting user preferences
You can customize IBM® Lotus® Notes® so that it runs and displays just the way you want it to. You can set many preferences for Lotus Notes in the Preferences dialog box by clicking File > Preferences > User Preferences (Macintosh OS X users, Lotus Notes > Preferences > User Preferences). Among the user preferences are mail settings such as how you want to be notified when you receive new mail, International settings such as specifying what time zone you are in, font settings, replication settings, port settings, and many more.

Be aware that some of the preferences you set will not take effect until the next time you start Lotus Notes; showing a warning message when you modify one of the preferences that requires restart.
