Setting tabs
You can set tabs any time while creating a document by specifying them in the text properties, or using the ruler. The tab marks you set in text properties display on the ruler, and any tab stops you set on the rule appear in numeric form in text properties.

To set tabs using text properties

1. Put the document in Edit mode.

2. Select the paragraph(s).

3. Click Text > Text Properties.


4. Click the Paragraph Margins tab.

5. In the Tab stops field:

To set tabs with the ruler

1. Put the document in Edit mode.

2. Select the paragraph(s).

3. Click View > Ruler.

4. Set the tab stops as follows:

Tip To remove a tab stop, click it. To change a tab's type, for example, change a Left tab to a Center tab, right-click the tab stop and select a new tab type from the menu. (Macintosh users, click the tab stop to delete it and create a new one.)

Tip The tab marks you click on the ruler appear in numeric form in the Tab stops section, located in the Paragraph Margins tab (third tab from left) in Text > Text Properties.
