LOCATIONS AND ACCOUNTS
Before you proceed, ask your Domino administrator whether your organization has a network server. With RAS, you may have access to a network server either through an ISP, through your organization's intranet, or both. A Notes "Network Dialup" location type lets you call a single network server to give you access to all Notes applications in your organization. If your organization does not have a network server, but instead has a modem directly attached to your home server or a passthru server, you need a "Notes Direct Dialup" location type.
Note Notes can use RAS software to call a network server and connect from there to Domino servers in your organization, to Web servers on the Internet, or to both. You may have access to a network server either through an ISP, through your organization's intranet, or both.
Notes saves information about network servers in Home Location documents of the Network Dialup type and in Network Dialup Server Connection documents.
Tip A network server connection may also allow you to browse the Internet. For more information, see Setting up your Web connection.
After you create this connection, you can start working either by clicking Actions > Call Server on the Replication page, or by opening your Mail and clicking Yes in the Make call..? dialog box. For more information, see Calling and disconnecting from servers.

4. Select Domino server and in the drop-down list, make of the following selections:
Note After you complete this type of configuration, the current Location document in your Contacts contains the name of your home server and Notes mail file name and path (which Notes learns from an available Domino Directory), as well as phone settings. Notes also creates either a Network Dialup or Notes Direct Dialup Connection document to your Domino server, with the phone number of the server and the port information.
