Exporting view data into spreadsheet files
You can export view data to an IBM® Lotus® 1-2-3® spreadsheet file. When you export a view to a spreadsheet, each line in the view becomes a row in the spreadsheet and each view column becomes a spreadsheet column. Any text visible in the view becomes spreadsheet cell contents. Column titles become column labels in the spreadsheet.

Tip To export to a Microsoft® Excel file, export the view as a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet, and then save the file in 1-2-3 as a Microsoft Excel file.

Exporting from a view does not remove documents from the view, but simply copies the data into a new file.

Lotus Notes can export the file in either .wks or .wk4 format. The .wk4 format is newer; use it unless you plan to use a very old release of 1-2-3 to work with the file.

Caution Do not change the extension of the exported file in the operating system before opening the file in Lotus 1-2-3, or you may have problems saving attributes. To convert the file to another release of 1-2-3, open the file in 1-2-3, click File > Save As, and select the file format you want.

To export into a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet file

1. In a view, select the documents you want to export.

2. Click File > Export.

3. In the Export dialog box, click Lotus 1-2-3 in the Save as type list.

4. In the File Name box, either create a new file by typing a name and extension, or replace data in an existing file with the exported data by selecting the file. Use either .wks or .wk4 as the extension.

5. Click Export.

6. If you select a file that already exists in the directory, click Replace to overwrite that file, or Cancel to return to the Export dialog box so you can enter a new filename.

7. Click All documents or Selected documents.

8. To include the view titles in the exported file, check Include View titles.

9. Click OK.
