Creating and customizing buttons
A button is a graphic that, when activated, launches an action. For example, you can send someone a document with a button in it that sends a reply back to you if the user clicks it. You must be in a rich-text field (a field that allows text, objects, file attachments, and pictures) to create a button.

To create buttons

1. Put the document in edit mode.

2. Place your cursor in the area of the document to add a button.

3. Click Create > Hotspot > Button. When you do this, a programmer's pane opens at the bottom of the window.

4. Click the Button Info tab in the Button properties box.

5. Enter the name of the button in the Label field, and the click the check mark to save.

6. Depending on the length of text in your button, select Wrap label text as needed (default is selected).

7. Select one of the following for button width:

8. In the Programmer's pane, select Simple action(s) from the second list, and then click Add Action and choose an action the hotspot should perform. Click Add. For more information, see Table of simple agent actions

9. Click File > Save to save the hotspot's properties.

To customize buttons

1. Put the document in edit mode.

2. Click the button.

3. Click Button > Button Properties.

4. Follow the procedures in this table to format the button.
TaskProcedure
Change a button's label or size
  1. Click the Button Info tab.
  2. Change the label in the Label field, and then click the check mark to save.
  3. Change the size in the Width field, and then click the check mark to save.
Change a button's edge style
  1. Click the Button Info tab.
  2. Select System, Square, or Rounded from the Edge list in the Style section.
Change a button's color
  1. Click the Button Info tab.
  2. Select a color from the Background list in the Style section.
Change a button's action
  1. Put the document in edit mode.
  2. Click the button.
  3. Click Button > Edit Button.
  4. Go through same steps as creating a button.
Move a button
  1. Select the button.
  2. Click Edit > Cut.
  3. Click where you want to place the button.
  4. Click Edit > Paste.
Delete a button
  1. Select the button.
  2. Click Edit > Delete.
