To specify the markup character and line length for Internet-style mail replies
When you create an Internet-style mail reply, IBM® Lotus® Notes® streamlines the history by marking reply text with a character (instead of using collapsed sections), limiting line length, and removing pictures and attachments. You can change the character used for markup and set the length of lines. By default, this character is a right-angle bracket (>).

1. Click File > Preferences > User Preferences.

2. Click Mail > Internet.

3. Under When composing Internet-style replies, type a character that should start each line, and type a length (in characters) at which text should wrap.

4. Click OK.
