Specifying the Home Portal server URL for accessing WebSphere Portal
To use composite applications or other IBM® Lotus® Notes® 8 features that use an IBM WebSphere Portal server, you must specify a Home Portal server account and the server to which it is connected. The Home Portal account is a unique and necessary account that indicates the WebSphere Portal server to connect to for composite applications that require a WebSphere Portal server.

You can specify the Home Portal account from within IBM Lotus Notes 8 using the following procedure.

1. Click File > Preferences > Home Portal Account in the navigator panel.

2. In the Name field, note the Home Portal value.


3. In the Description field, note or type a descriptor such as Main Portal server account.

4. In the server Type field, note the value, such as HTTP.

5. In the Server field, note or enter the Web address of your WebSphere Portal server.


6. Enter your user name and password for WebSphere Portal.

7. In the Authentication type field, note or enter the authentication type, for example J2EE form.

8. In the Authentication URL field, note or enter the URL of the authenticating server.

9. Click OK.
