1. The following code displays the body of the novalues tag if no entries exist in the view.

<domino:view viewname="myView" dbname-"myDb.nsf"> <domino:viewloop> This text will be repeated for each entry in the view<br> No text displays if no entries exist<br> </domino:viewloop> <domino:novalues> This will only appear if no entries exist in the view<br> </domino:novalues> </domino/view>

2. If no entries exist in the view, this code retrieves the message to display from the .properties file for the application.

</domino:viewloop> <domino:novalues> <domino:msg msgkey="alphaNoValuesTxt"/> </domino:novalues>

The following excerpt from the .properties file for the application is what displays on the page if no entries exist in the view:

alphaNoValuesTxt=There are no author names or documents to display
